Lemon Balm, Bugleweed and Rosemary in this formula are all from the mint family and contain rosmarinic and lithospermic acids. These plant acids are powerful polyphenols shown to bind Thyroid Stimulating Immunoglobulins (TSIs) and support the thyroid.
ThyroCalm Px’s Melissa (Lemon Balm) has been shown to have activity in the central nervous system where it promotes dopaminergic transmission. Dopamine helps regulate pituitary hormones and may support endocrine feedback loops and hormone regulation. The folkloric uses of Melissa include nervous system support which may respond to maintaining dopamine activity in the brain. This formula uses sophisticated technology capable of processing the herbs to extremely high concentrations ranging from 10:1 to 100:1 ratios of whole herb.
Caution: The dosage of Thioamides (the class of drugs which are used to control thyrotoxicosis) such as Methimazole, Carbimazole, and Propylthiouracil (PTU) need to be monitored while taking this product. Drug potentiation can occur with these classes of drugs due to synergistic potentiation.
