*ThyroCalm Px Capsules is a highly concentrated spray dried herbal extract that is designed to help maintain healthy thyroid function by stabilizing inappropriate stimulation of the thyroid gland by thyroid stimulating immunoglobulins.
Lemon Balm, Bugleweed, and Rosemary in this formula are all from the mint family and contain rosmarinic and lithospermic acids. These plant acids are powerful polyphenols shown to bind Thyroid Stimulating Immunoglobulins (TSIs) and support the thyroid gland. TSIs are auto-antibodies.
The Melissa (Lemon Balm) in this formula has also shown to have activity in the central nervous system where it promotes dopaminergic transmission. Dopamine in turn is noted to help regulate pituitary hormones and may support endocrine feedback loops and hormone regulation. The folkloric uses of Melissa include nervous system support which may respond to maintaining dopamine activity in the brain.
This formula uses sophisticated technology capable of processing the herbs to extremely high concentrations ranging from 10:1 to 100:1 ratios of whole herb. Therefore this product can deliver significant amounts of the active polyphenols with a low dose.
Caution: The dosage of Thioamides (the class of drugs which are used to control thyrotoxicosis) such as Methimazole, Carbimazole, and Propylthiouracil (PTU) need to be monitored while taking this product. Drug potentiation can occur with these class of drugs due to synergistic potentiation.
